GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) is the maximum your vehicle is legally allowed to weigh when fully loaded. That figure set by the manufacturer includes the vehicle itself, all fitted accessories, passengers, fuel, water, luggage, recovery gear, and the tow ball download if you are towing. Subtract your kerb weight from GVM, and you get your payload, and this is where most touring builds come unstuck.
